Have you ever been to the Outer Banks? If not, then I encourage you to give it a go. I hope to be able to convince you to check them out by giving you a little inspiration from my past trips. Enjoy!

Fishing is allowed right on the beach.
Picture
It seems like you have the entire beach to yourself, and with the U.S. Park Ranger strolling through every so often, you feel a sense of security.
Picture
You're free to drive your 4-wheel drive vehicle on the beach, but keep in mind you'll have to let some of the air out of your tires first.

You can engage in all sorts of water sports.
Picture
Cape Hatteras in particular is a popular spot for kiteboarding.
Picture
This Nags Head restaurant is a must-do tourist spot for those who love seafood! They serve fried and steamed seafood, plus BBQ, burgers and Southern sides.
Picture
But their homemade hush puppies are to die for! (And this is coming from someone who normally doesn't like hush puppies.) They also bring you condiments for making your own cocktail sauce, which is better than store bought!!

This was the house we rented on our very first trip to OBX. It was built on tall wooden stilts, which was fun until the wind kicked up and the whole house swayed All. Night. Long.
Picture
If you hadn't noticed yet, fishing is a pretty big thing in this part of the world.

Visit the Wright Brothers National Memorial, in Kitty Hawk, where the brothers flew their first plane. The flight only lasted 12 seconds and only went a few feet, but thank goodness they didn't give up!
Picture
If you plan to visit the area with your friends and/or family, there are many rental homes to chose from, ranging from small to extremely large with lots of bedrooms and full-sized bathrooms.
Picture
The houses are usually large enough for several families, which is great because you can all get together and split the cost, making for a very affordable vacation.

This was the beautiful home we rented back in 2018. Check out some pics of the inside...

The sunrises in Corolla are amazing! This picture does it NO justice!!
Picture
The sunsets are pretty amazing too!

We were stoked to finally see the wild horses of Corolla! So beautiful and free! And the interesting part is, no one is 100% sure how they got there. (Although there are a few theories).
Picture
Picture
The best way to get a glimpse of the wild horses is to sign up with one of the tour companies, who know exactly where to find the horses. Many go above and beyond to make sure you get a chance to see them.

We learned that these two are very good friends.

I always tell my clients to take the scenic route...this time I followed my own advice!

Currituck Beach Lighthouse, located in the heart of Corolla, is one of five lighthouses in OBX. It stands 162 ft high and you can climb the 220 steps if you're brave. But don't worry, if you need to, you can stop and rest at some of the landing spots.

Views from the top of the Currituck lighthouse!

These next several pictures are compliments of our chef. If I could give you just one piece of advice, it would be to hire a personal chef. You can't even imagine how much we enjoyed having our own chef. We relaxed, went sight-seeing and seriously enjoyed our time because we didn't have to worry whose turn it was to cook.

I hoped you enjoyed your trip (well I guess  technically it was my trip) to the Outer Banks in 39 pictures.

Please take 1 minute to check out my OBX video to tie up all the loose ends.  When you're ready, give me a call and let's see what we can do to get your OBX vacation on the books!
